Privacy policy

KLAKS exists to protect you, not to collect you. This page says exactly what we know about you and what we do with it.

Last updated: August 20, 2026

What we collect if you have an account

Your phone number only, stored encrypted — even we don't see it in plain text in the database. Beyond that: your cars and stickers (random codes that reveal nothing about you) and the alerts you received. No name, no address, and no plate number is ever stored.

What happens when you scan a code

No account and no personal details are asked of you. We set an anonymous marker on your browser to prevent repeated spam, and we use your IP address for the same reason — it is deleted within 72 hours. The car owner sees nothing about you.

What we keep and for how long

IP addresses are deleted within 72 hours. Alert details are anonymized after 90 days. If you delete your account, your number, cars and stickers are erased immediately. Past alerts stay behind as bare numbers — detached and anonymized, with nothing left that leads back to you or to whoever sent them.

What we will never do

We don't sell your data or share it with anyone. Your number is never shown to anyone who scans your code. And there is no way to look up a car or its owner through KLAKS.

Your rights

Under Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (151/2020) you can access, correct, or erase your data. The "Delete my account" button in your settings erases everything instantly — no need to talk to anyone.

Questions?

Every one of your rights is exercised by you, with nobody to ask: see your data and change your number in settings, and erase the account completely with "Delete my account". If you want to understand something better, the help center has the common questions.
